Terms of use
These terms cover use of the VarshaKrishi platform, operated by VarshaKrishi Udhyog Pvt. Ltd. The platform is currently in pilot.
What the service does
VarshaKrishi analyses public satellite imagery, weather data and soil data for field boundaries you register, and produces plain-language observations and recommendations about crop condition, irrigation and weather risk.
What an advisory is, and is not
Advisories are decision support, not a guarantee, and not a substitute for your own judgement or for qualified agronomic or veterinary advice. They are produced from remote observations and models, both of which have limits:
- Optical satellites cannot see through cloud. During the monsoon there may be long gaps between usable observations.
- Every advisory carries an explicit freshness label and a confidence level. Please read them. Where we have no observation, we say so rather than guessing.
- Weather forecasts are probabilistic and can be wrong.
- Small fields, mixed cropping and boundary errors all reduce accuracy.
You remain responsible for decisions about your land. We are not liable for crop loss, yield shortfall or expenditure arising from acting on an advisory.
Your account
You are responsible for the sign-in method attached to your account. If you believe someone else has access to it, contact us and we can detach all sign-in methods from your profile without affecting your field data. Do not register fields you have no right to register.
Accounts created on your behalf
A VarshaKrishi field executive may create an account for you and register your fields during an assisted visit. You can take ownership of that account by signing in through an invitation link we provide. Until you do, the account is managed by our staff on your behalf.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another user’s fields or data, disrupt the service, or scrape it at scale. We rate-limit requests and may suspend accounts that abuse the platform.
Availability
This is a pilot deployment. We do not offer an uptime guarantee, and scheduled satellite processing may be delayed by upstream data providers.
Changes
We will update these terms as the platform develops, and will change the date above.
